My buddy Matt Cox finally gave birth to his story about the Army’s unwillingness to upgrade their carbine of choice from the Colt M4 to a more reliable system. After lots of research and testing, delta and other SOCOM units chose to dump the M4 and move to Heckler & Koch’s HK416, which has a more reliable a pusher-rod system, akin to the AK47. Check out the story and multimedia to read about the weapons and the politics behind the decision to ignore the HK416’s improvements and buy 100,000 more M4s.
