Terrible News

I just heard today that my friends in CAAT Black, Weapons 3/7 were attacked Saturday in Ramadi. 2nd Lt. Almar Fitzgerald has been flown to Germany and is in critical condition, and one of his section leaders, whom I can’t name until his family has been notified, has been killed.

Apparently, Fitz was leading a section of (4) uparmor humvees when the trail vehicle was disabled by an IED. Three other Marines were wounded in that vehicle. The patrol stopped and the leaders began assessing the situation. When Fitz’s section leader stepped out of the lead vehicle, a second IED was triggered, killing the Corporal and causing Fitz massive head trauma inside the lead vehicle.

Fitz’s family is on the way to Germany tonight to see him.

Let’s pray for them, all their families and their fellow Marines.
