Got a call tonight from my boss. Looks like I am on deck to go meet the Marines of the 26th MEU on their way to Liberia. The arrangements are being made and if they go through it looks like I won’t be heading back to Mosul, Iraq to see my friends in the 502nd INF Brigade for a while.

Dear Mr. Curtis: I’m a WW2 veteran who is a military artist currently working on a commissioned painting for an African American military group called The Rocks, named after Brig. General Roscoe C. Cartwright. The painting will encompass besides portraits of notable black figures, several scenes of the war in Iraq. I’m looking at the great shots of yours that appear in the Faces Of Valor magazine. I would like to get permission from you to use some of them for reference. I will pay for the rights of course but would like to alter some to get a few more black faces in the scenes if possible. To see what I’m all about, please go to our web site donstivers.com. Thank you in advance but please tell me what I have to do to get your permission. If you could call me our toll free no. is (540) 888-3855 We live in Lovettsville,Va.
